Gibson introduced the Les Paul Junior model in 1954 as its budget friendly student level solid body electric guitar with single cutaway body style and single p-90 pickup in the bridge position. Shortly after a few improvements were made to the bridge and neck shape, leading to a design that is classic and still copied to this day.

This model is an original 1958 production, ink stamped "8 4082" in very good condition. There is some play wear on the back of the body and neck, and the top finish has checking throughout. The guitar looks wonderful and plays well with a straight neck and good frets. The tuners are original with buttons that are still in good shape. The pickup and bridge hardware are original as well, the electronics have been tested and are in working condition. The knobs have been changed, and the case is an aftermarket SKB molded case. The guitar weighs 7 lbs 7 oz.
