Hands playing P525 Digital Piano

AS CLOSE AS IT GETS TO A GRAND PIANO
The P-525 features the delightfully playable GrandTouch-S keyboard – featured in our top-of-the-line Clavinova digital pianos – which faithfully recreates the experience of a grand piano. The keyboard simulates the subtle differences in how hard, quickly, and heavily the keys are played, while producing grand-piano-like variety and richness of tone.

With specially seasoned wooden keys, the GrandTouch-S keyboard is exceptionally durable.

Two Concert Grand Pianos

THE SOUNDS OF TWO WORLD-CLASS CONCERT GRAND PIANOS
The P-525 harnesses the Voices of two landmark grand pianos: the Yamaha CFX and Bösendorfer Imperial. The CFX delivers brilliant trebles complemented by a powerful bass, ensuring clarity in every performance. The Imperial envelops listeners with its distinct, warm Viennese tone. With these two iconic piano Voices at your fingertips – all within its compact design – you’ll captivate just about any audience.

With Registration Memory, you can effortlessly save and recall your tailored settings, making it a breeze to set up and play live. Plus, Sound Boost and the adjustable EQ ensure your P-525 stands out – even when jamming with a full band.

All the sophistication of a grand piano has been crafted into the sleek design of the P-525 portable digital piano. Drawing inspiration from our long line of iconic acoustic pianos, the P-525 features wooden accents above the keyboard, polished side panels and a touch of red felt along the key bed.

Headphones

Practice with headphones—whenever you want, as much as you want
One of the greatest advantages of a digital piano is the ability to practice while listening through headphones. You won't disturb family members or neighbors when you play - and they won't have to hear you when your playing isn't at its best.

*Headphones sold separately

Metronome

Metronome Function
A metronome function is available if you want to practice along with a fixed tempo.

Record

Recording Function
If you’re wanting to listen to your playing objectively, or to play along with your own performances, the recording function is just the thing you need.

Rhythm

Rhythm Function
If you get tired of playing alone, rhythm accompaniment is also available in genres such as rock, pop, jazz, and bossa nova. This is also a great way to learn genre-specific rhythms.

Binaural

Binaural Sampling
Binaural sampling involves placing microphones by the player’s ears to pick up the sound of the Yamaha CFX during sampling. The result? When you wear headphones while playing in the CFX Grand Voice, you'll be immersed in a stunning grand-piano sound.

Yamaha is the only company that uses this technology for digital piano output into headphones. (Study by Yamaha, as of 2023)

There is also a Stereophonic Optimizer function to achieve a similar effect for the piano Voices other than the CFX. Stereophonic Optimizer technology replicates the natural diffusion of sound in headphones nearly as closely as binaural sampling for the piano Voices other than the CFX.

Bluetooth

Bluetooth® audio and MIDI functionality for even more enjoyment
The P-525 features built-in Bluetooth audio, which lets you pair your Bluetooth-enabled smart device with the keyboard so you can listen or play along with your favorite music through the instrument's speakers.

Furthermore, Bluetooth MIDI allows you to use the Smart Pianist app over a wireless connection.

*Availability of Bluetooth varies by country or region

Soundboost

Sound Boost
Ever been in a session with a band and felt that your sound was being overpowered by the other instruments? Worry no more—the P-525 comes equipped with a Sound Boost function that switches to a punchy and powerful sound for such situations.

The P-525 offers new settings for enhancing the instrument’s sound as you play and record, while audio data plays back on your smart device. Use this feature when you record using Yamaha’s Smart Pianist app or via Rec’n’Share.

Dimensions and Connectivity

P525 Dimensions and Connectivity

Piano Hammers in a Piano

Groundbreaking technology simulates the rich resonance of a grand piano
Acoustic grand pianos emit sound through the complex movements of a vast number of parts, namely hammers connected to the keys that strike strings inside a wooden case, amplifying the sound. This mechanism, which took centuries to perfect, is absent from digital pianos.

Yamaha uses proprietary know-how and technology to reproduce the sound of a grand piano. Grand Expression Modeling digitally simulates tonal variance by accurately sensing the slightest differences in the speed and intensity of the keys.

Virtual Resonance Modeling (VRM) recreates the rich tones produced by the vibrations and resonance of the strings, damper, body, and duplex scaling of a grand piano in response to the player’s input on the keyboard

P525 Internal Speakers Graphic

Deep, clear, natural sound
The two-way speakers clearly produce the full spectrum of sound, from substantial bass to light treble, with no distortion or noise. We angled the speakers slightly toward the bench so that you're enveloped by sound as you play.

We also made significant improvments to the speaker boxes. Flared bass reflex ports and proprietary sound-absorbing tubes substantially reduce wind noise, vibration noise, and other excess noise, which helps to deliver a higher quality of sound.

The P-525 is also the first digital piano equipped with an FIR filter, which makes fine adjustments to the phase of the sound. This allows your audience to hear a naturally pleasing sound as you play.

Man using iPad Smart Pianist App with P525 Digital Piano

Smart Pianist App
By linking the P-525 with our dedicated Smart Pianist app, you can intuitively perform all operations on the P-525 from the screen of your smart device. There’s no longer any need to pull out the manual to see how things work.

P525 Digital Piano shown with optional stand and pedal accessories

Dedicated optional stand and sustain pedal available for more authentic performances
If you want to play your P-525 like an acoustic piano instead of casually on a tabletop or desktop, we offer an optional stand L-515 and three-pedal unit LP-1 (including damper pedal with half-pedaling capability) that works just like the pedals on a grand piano.

Also offered is an optional three-pedal unit FC35 (which features a damper pedal compatible with the half-pedal function), and the included FC3A (a sustain pedal compatible with half pedaling)

*The pedal shown is the FC35.

Optional Accessories

Yamaha L-515 Furniture Stand

The Yamaha L-515  furniture stand is an optional stand for the P-515 designed to match the look and feel of a piano while fixing the P-515 keybed to a standard playing height.

Yamaha LP-1 3-Pedal Add-on

A standard sustain pedal is included. For an even more authentic performance, attach the optional LP-1 3-pedal unit to the L-515 stand.
