The Bocal Majority Basic Oboe Reed is designed for first year players. If you are looking for a “soft’ or “medium soft” oboe reed, the Basic Oboe Reed is our recommendation. These reeds are handmade professionally and come in regular thread wrap with various colors.

These reeds are designed to play in tune and easily in the fundamental range. Although they will work in the extremes of the register, oboists may find it is not the ideal reed for doing so.
