The new Mark II Series Yamaha Custom Xeno trumpet features a revamped bell, and a newly designed leadpipe. The new bell design provides a powerful tonal core and more precise slotting in the upper register.

Other new features include a lighter valve casing and pistons, which deliver enhanced response and optimal tone control. The YTR8335IIGS offers outstanding power and projection, and is characterized by refined resistance and response for softer notes.

The Yamaha Custom Xeno trumpet is free-blowing, a characteristic of the entire Xeno trumpet line. The medium large bore (.459") provides just the right amount of resistance, allowing smooth pitch transition without over blowing, and the upper register is comfortable and does not fight back.

Yamaha has employed corrosion-resistant monel pistons on the Xeno, enhancing the smooth valve action and long term precise fit. Hand-lapping pistons and slides ensures an absolutely perfect fit and seal between the pistons and casing or slide parts. Such a perfect fit helps to achieve smooth air flow and smooth action and improve the response and intonation of the instrument. The stock horn performs well right out of the case.
